Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Nurse Practitioner to conduct Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans applying for benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role focuses on reviewing medical records, performing focused physical assessments, and providing objective medical opinions that support the VA disability determination process.

This is not a treatment role.

Qualifications

Graduate of a professional nursing program.
Active, valid, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
Minimum of one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including renewals.
Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.
Basic computer skills including MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF and EMR systems.
Authorized to work in the United States for federal contractors.

Responsibilities

Conduct C&P disability examinations for Veterans per VA requirements.
Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation before and during examinations.
Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete documentation.
Use examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
Work with QA to ensure reports are complete and submitted on time.
Maintain compliance with VA training, HIPAA, privacy standards, and Loyal Source policies.
Support other Loyal Source clinics with travel as needed.
