Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Nurse Practitioner to conduct Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans seeking VA benefits in Buffalo, NY. This role focuses on reviewing medical records, performing focused physical assessments, and providing objective medical opinions to support VA determinations.

It is not a treatment role and does not involve prescribing or ongoing patient management.

Qualifications

Graduate of a professional nursing program with NP licensure.
Active, valid, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
Minimum of one year as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current BLS certification and renewals.

Responsibilities

Conduct C&P disability examinations for Veterans per VA requirements.
Review medical records and diagnostic testing before and during examinations.
Perform focused physical assessments for claimed conditions.
Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and document findings.
Use examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
Ensure reports are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
Maintain VA training requirements, HIPAA and Loyal Source policies.
Travel approximately 10% to support other Loyal Source clinics.
