Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Nurse Practitioner to conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability examinations for Veterans applying for benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

This role focuses on reviewing medical records, performing focused physical assessments, documenting findings, and providing objective medical opinions that support the VA disability determination process.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Active, valid, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license. Not barred in any state or U.S. territory.
• Minimum of one year of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including renewals.
• Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF, web-based platforms, and EMR systems.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to meet federal contractor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P disability examinations for Veterans in accordance with VA program requirements.
• Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation before and during examinations.
• Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
• Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Use proprietary examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure reports are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timelines.
• Maintain compliance with VA training requirements, HIPAA, privacy standards, and Loyal Source policies.
• Support other Loyal Source clinics as needed, with approximately 10% travel.
