Job summary

Loyal Source seeks an Examiner Nurse Practitioner to conduct Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans applying for VA benefits. Role focuses on reviewing medical records, focused physical assessments, and objective medical opinions. Not a treatment role, no prescribing or ongoing patient management.

Pay rate is $115,068 per year, with a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM–5:00 PM) in Indianapolis, IN. Travel approximately 10% to support other Loyal Source clinics.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by a US DOE institution.
• Active, valid NP license; must not be barred from practice in any state.
• Minimum of one year of NP experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and renewals.
• Strong documentation, communication, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Adobe PDF and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P disability examinations for VA requirements.
• Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation before and during examinations.
• Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
• Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Use proprietary examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
• Work with Quality Assurance to ensure reports are complete, accurate, and timely.
