Wounded Warrior Project in Florida is seeking a Benefits Services Manager to lead a team of service officers focused on VA/DoD benefits claims for veterans.

You will oversee training, budgeting, performance coaching, and collaboration with VA and community partners, while ensuring timely, accurate benefits processing.

The role emphasizes leadership, compliance, and a commitment to helping wounded warriors and their families.

Qualifications

• Five years of veterans benefits advocacy experience as a VA accredited service officer.
• Three years of leadership and/or management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, training, or certification.
• VA accreditation and ASIST certification within 1 year are preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

Responsabilités

• Manage a service officer team of local and remote staff to identify veterans benefits and assist with DoD/VA claims.
• Lead the benefits services team as liaison between VA and veterans, representing and advocating for claims.
• Maintain an active caseload at least 33% above team average.
• Provide frequent performance feedback to teammates on core competencies.
• Train and develop service officers to address warrior claim needs across benefit categories.
• Represent WWP at public events to educate veterans and partners.
• Collaborate with WWP teams and VA partners to build relationships and advocate for beneficiaries.
• Aim to meet or exceed timeliness and completion goals for benefit claims.
• Report progress and outcomes of benefit trends to leadership using WWP data.
• Stay updated on benefits trends and medical conditions affecting warriors.
• Provide staff training to maintain VA accreditation.
• Manage budgets and ensure proper expense controls.
• Attend required trainings and departmental meetings.
