Job summary

Wounded Warrior Project is seeking a Benefits Services Manager to lead a team of service officers in obtaining DoD and VBA benefits for veterans. This role combines leadership, advocacy, and claims support with budget oversight, training, and external representation.

Qualifications

• Five years of veterans benefits advocacy experience as a VA accredited service officer.
• Three years of leadership and/or management experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• VA accreditation and ASIST Certification within 1 year of hire.
• Strong ethics and mission-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage a service officer team of local and remote staff to identify veterans benefits and assist/submit benefits claims to DoD and VA.
• Lead the team as liaison between VA and wounded service members; advocate for their claims.
• Maintain a caseload at least 33% of the team average and provide performance feedback.
• Provide staff training and ensure VA accreditation; report progress to leadership.
• Represent WWP at third-party events to educate veterans and stakeholders.
