Job summary

Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is seeking a Benefits Services Manager to lead a team of service officers, oversee claims processing, training, budgeting, and collaboration with VA and community partners. This role drives timeliness and accuracy in veterans' benefits and represents the organization at events.

Qualifications

• Five years of veterans benefits advocacy experience as a VA accredited service officer.
• Three years of leadership and/or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a service officer team to identify benefits and submit claims to DoD and VBA.
• Lead liaison between the VA and wounded service members; provide representation and advocacy for benefits claims.
• Maintain an active caseload and provide performance feedback to teammates.
• Oversee training, accreditation, budgeting, and staff development.
• Represent WWP at public events and build partnerships with VA and community organizations.
• Lead the team to meet timeliness and successful completion goals for benefits claims.
• Report progress and outcomes of benefit trends to leadership.
• Stay informed on DoD/VA trends and medical conditions relevant to wounded veterans.
• Collaborate on staff training to maintain VA accreditation.
• Manage department budget and expense controls.
