Job summary

Bastion Community of Resilience in New Orleans, LA, seeks an Intake Coordinator to be the first point of contact for veterans, family members, walk-ins, and referrals at the Bastion Veteran Wellness Center. The role conducts initial needs assessments, coordinates referrals, and maintains accurate client records.

You will input data in Salesforce, connect clients with services, advocate for access, and support completion of paperwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field (required or strongly preferred).
• Experience in social services, case management, intake coordination, or a related role (preferred).
• Knowledge of veteran services, community resources, and support systems (preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental approach to client care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with social work, building manager, and clinical director to execute intake protocol and referrals.
• Conduct initial assessments for veterans, family members, and new community contacts.
• Evaluate clients' needs and determine eligibility for services.
• Input data into Salesforce and maintain accurate client records.
• Advocate for clients to access necessary services and support paperwork completion.
• Follow up with clients and maintain relationships with resource providers.
• Stay up to date on local resources and update the Bastion resource database.
