Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States is seeking an Intake Coordinator for the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program in Knoxville. This role is the first point of contact for veterans seeking services and involves eligibility screening, referrals, and data entry.

You will work with community partners, maintain HMIS records, and support crisis intervention and housing stabilization efforts while upholding VOA’s values and commitment to veterans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and <5 years in the field, or 5 years’ experience with no degree.
• Strong customer service, phone system experience, and proficient computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; highly organized and team oriented.
• Must have reliable auto and license; ability to travel between counties served.

Responsibilities

• Screen and verify eligibility requirements for SSVF homeless veteran’s assistance.
• Apply SSVF Program eligibility requirements for the SSVF Program.
• Assist clients with crisis intervention and short-term housing stabilization.
• Refer clients to other housing stabilization programs and community partners.
• Maintain HMIS data entry and client intake logs.
• Maintain client databases and Excel trackers.
• Participate in outreach activities and staff meetings.
