Job summary

Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists, Inc. (VRSI) seeks an Employment Specialist for the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program. You will guide veterans from initial contact through eligibility, training, placement, and follow-up, ensuring livable-wage employment in in-demand roles.

You will assess needs, develop employment plans, provide job readiness training, and connect veterans to housing, transportation, and supportive services. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in social work, human services, counseling, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 2 years in workforce development, employment services, or related field.
• Valid driver's license; reliable transportation; mileage reimbursed at federal rate.

Responsibilities

• Meet with veterans to assess skills, work history, and barriers; create personal employment plans with goals and timelines.
• Provide resume writing, job search strategies, interview prep, and professional conduct training; lead workshops.
• Build relationships with local employers to identify job opportunities and support placement; follow up after hire.
