Job summary

Petco is seeking a Hospital Concierge for our Vetco Total Care hospital. You will be the first and last point of contact for clients, manage the phone line, schedule appointments, greet clients and pets by name, and support staff to ensure a smooth, compassionate visit.

We value teamwork, excellent communication, and the ability to handle busy periods with empathy. A high school diploma and 1 year in a veterinary or customer-facing role are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is a requirement.
• Must have at least 1 year's previous experience working in veterinary practice or a customer-facing role in another organization.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be compassionate and sympathetic and be able to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.
• Must have exceptional telephone and computer skills.
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change.
• Preferred: Previous experience using a Practice Management System.

Responsibilities

• Answer the practice phone and route calls.
• Maintain hospital appointment calendar and schedule appointments.
• Greet visitors and clients, monitor wait times, assist during busy times.
• Participate in training of new staff and share knowledge.
• Keep waiting area clean and well-stocked.
• Confirm appointments by client preferred method and adjust as needed.
• Provide backup support to staff when needed.
