Job summary

You will also manage refrigeration systems, PM programs, and vendor relationships while supporting capital projects. The role requires 5–7 years in building management or arena engineering, a strong technical background, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in building management or arena engineering
• Engineering degree preferred
• Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings
• Familiarity with 120 v / 208 v / 220 v systems/circuits
• Familiarity with NYC Building and Fire codes
• FDNY COFs: A35, C92, F01, F03, F60, G60, S12, S13, S14 and FLSD
• CFC Universal Technician Certificate

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and capital improvement of kitchen equipment, appliances, and related ancillaries.
• Maintain responsibility for refrigeration systems throughout the building.
• Continue building out and revamping the preventive maintenance program for all assigned equipment.
• Manage evaluation, procurement, and implementation of capital equipment, including vendor selection.
• Schedule and oversee project work, repairs, and emergency response.
• Manage outside vendors and contractors, including scope, pricing, scheduling, and warranty follow-up.
• Serve as a key management contact during events and respond to equipment failures.
• Direct and support union trades and department staff.
• Track equipment condition and repair history to inform repair-versus-replace decisions.
• Oversee budgeting for repairs, service contracts, parts, and capital equipment for F&B appliances.
• Maintain compliance with health, sanitation, fire, and life safety requirements.
• Manage FDNY rangehood inspections and ensure compliance with FDNY and DOH standards
• Assist the Engineering team on ancillary projects.
