Job summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art seeks an Assistant Engineering Manager to join our Facilities Management team in New York City. You will oversee operation, repair and maintenance of the museum’s mechanical and electrical plant and supervise union staff.

Required: a BS in Engineering and at least five years in facilities management, with experience in HVAC, water treatment, BMS and energy conservation. Chiller plants, electrical infrastructure and safety compliance are desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field required.
• At least five years of facilities management experience in similar buildings.
• Experience with water treatment systems and vertical transportation is a plus.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy conservation is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with union labor environments.

Responsibilities

• Operation, maintenance and repair of the physical plant (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Supervise union maintenance personnel.
• Support capital projects including design reviews and construction oversight.
• Coordinate between Facilities Management and Construction Management.
