Job summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art seeks an Assistant Engineering Manager to oversee daily operations, repair and maintenance of the Museum’s mechanical and electrical plant in New York. You will supervise union maintenance staff and manage contracts while supporting capital projects through design reviews and construction oversight.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Engineering and 5+ years in facilities management, with knowledge of BMS, HVAC, water treatment and energy conservation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years facilities management experience.
• Direct experience with water treatment and vertical transportation is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC systems.
• Experience with energy conservation and sustainability measures.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair the building's mechanical plant and electrical systems.
• Supervise union maintenance personnel and manage labor issues.
• Support capital projects with design reviews and construction oversight.
• Coordinate with Facilities Management and Construction Management.
