Job summary

Hotel 48LEX in Manhattan’s Midtown East, part of HHM Hotels, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead maintenance operations across the property, ensuring guest comfort and safety.

You will supervise associates, manage bids and contracts, oversee projects, and maintain life-safety systems, with a focus on sustainability and brand standards.

This role offers a path to higher roles such as Chief Engineer and requires HVAC certification and prior supervisory maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and/or trade school coursework preferred.
• Supervisory engineer/maintenance experience required or equivalent training.
• HVAC certification is required.
• Certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates to hotel standards.
• Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
• Manage bids, quotes and contracts for 3rd-party vendors.
• Oversee small projects (PIPS) and report progress.
• Maintain life safety systems and ensure 100% operability.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and Federal codes.
• Maintain exterior and curb appeal; refurbish furniture and fixtures.
