Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced VDC Engineer to lead BIM coordination and on-site VDC activities across construction projects. You will drive model reviews, coordination meetings, and document control in collaboration with preconstruction and reality capture teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in VDC or related field with 4+ years of experience, strong BIM tool proficiency, and excellent communication for cross-functional teams. Travel to sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) or related field with minimum 4 years of related experience or equivalent education.
• Preferred CM-BIM designation and continuing education credits.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications and project schedule.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, codes, and VDC specifications.
• Ability to develop specialized solutions, anticipate challenges and communicate with stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication, and collaboration skills for a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency with BIM software tools listed above and familiarity with reality capture workflows.

Responsibilities

• Perform VDC processes and lead design model reviews on construction projects on site with stakeholders.
• Coordinate VDC meetings, file management, document control, and RFIs.
• Conduct BIM coordination meetings, track action items, and support VDC communications.
• Prepare and review BIM coordination processes, submittals, and related workflows.
• Compile quantity variance reports for estimating and change management; contribute to Quality Control.
• Develop presence on the construction site to resolve constructability issues and communicate solutions.
• Collaborate with VDC team to execute BIM execution plans and expand VDC services.
