Job summary

R-2 Contractors, Inc is seeking an accomplished Utility-Scale Trenching Division Manager to lead and grow our Trenching Division. This executive role oversees production trenching, single-pass mechanical laying, and underground conduit installation across the United States, with a focus on safety, quality, and leadership development.

The position reports to Operations leadership and collaborates with project managers to deliver high-quality projects.

Qualifications

• Must have 10+ years in heavy civil/underground utility construction including utility-scale projects.
• Proven leadership of multiple trenching crews and large-scale operations.
• Strong knowledge of high-production trenching, conduit installation, bedding, backfilling, and restoration.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for trenching operations across multiple projects.
• Build and develop a high-performing team of superintendents, foremen, and field leaders.
• Oversee production trenching, single-pass mechanical laying, and underground conduit installation.
• Coordinate resources, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and budgets to support project execution.
• Partner with project managers and leadership to ensure successful project delivery.
• Drive safety, quality, and operational performance across the division.
