Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking an experienced Utility-Scale Trenching Foreman to lead field crews on nationwide projects in the United States. The role requires planning, coordinating, and executing trenching and underground conduit installation with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

You will oversee day-to-day field operations, mentor crews, coordinate with Superintendents and Project Managers, and ensure on-schedule delivery of high-production work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in utility-scale trenching/heavy civil construction.
• Minimum 2 years as a Trenching Foreman leading field crews.
• Strong knowledge of high-production trenching and underground conduit installation.
• Experience operating supervising trench equipment (Tesmec/Vermeer, rock saws, cable lay box).
• Ability to read project drawings and specs.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and extend schedules as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily trenching and underground conduit installation activities for utility-scale projects.
• Plan daily work assignments and coordinate crews, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and production activities.
• Read and interpret project drawings, trench profiles, utility layouts, and construction documents.
• Coordinate trenching operations and equipment, bedding placement, and restoration.
• Maintain safety and quality, monitor production, and report progress.
