Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking a Utility-Scale Underground Trenching Superintendent to lead field operations for trenching and conduit installation on nationwide projects in the United States.

The role requires 100% travel to active project sites, strong leadership, safety focus, and the ability to manage manpower, equipment, and schedules to deliver projects on time and with high quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in underground utility or related construction.
• Minimum 5 years leading trenching operations as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent.
• Experience manages heavy equipment and trenching crews on utility-scale projects.
• Ability to read project drawings and specifications; ensure safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations for underground trenching and conduit installation on projects nationwide.
• Plan manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and production schedules.
• Supervise Foremen, operators, and field teams to ensure safe, productive execution.
• Ensure work aligns with project specs, quality standards, and schedules.
• Develop foremen and future superintendents through coaching and mentorship.
