Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking an accomplished Utility-Scale Trenching Division Manager to lead and grow the Trenching Division across the United States. This executive role oversees all aspects of trenching operations, including production trenching, single-pass mechanical laying, and underground conduit installation, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of heavy civil or underground utility construction experience.
• Proven experience leading multiple trenching crews and large-scale underground projects.
• Strong knowledge of high-production trenching, bedding, and conduit installation practices.
• Experience operating Tesmec and Vermeer trenchers, rock saws, and cable lay box systems.
• Working knowledge of GPS grade control, production planning, and resource allocation.
• Strong financial acumen with budget and project performance experience.
• Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% and meet pre-employment screenings.
