This role involves leading and developing teams by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Responsibilities include communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. The position also involves introducing and leading change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance, and implementing business solutions. Demonstrating exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives, resolving customer issues, and developing action plans for improvement are essential. The role requires driving financial performance by reviewing profit and loss statements, managing budgets, controlling expenses, and ensuring effective merchandise presentation and inventory flow. Providing supervision and development opportunities for associates, ensuring compliance with policies, and fostering a culture of belonging and integrity are also key. The position emphasizes respecting individuals, acting with integrity, serving customers, striving for excellence, and supporting Walmart’s mission and values. The hourly wage range is $31.25-$38.46 plus differential, with additional bonuses and compensation based on location and performance.
Candidates should have 2 years of college; or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearm-related positions, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership, and experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
