Job description

Position Summary...

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit & Loss) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  2. Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  3. Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals.
  4. Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties.
  5. Set clear expectations, provide recognition, and promote a sense of belonging in the workplace.
  6. Build relationships with key stakeholders, support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, and measure progress.
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  8. Create a workplace of belonging, embracing differences and creating opportunities for all associates to thrive.
  9. Build high-performing teams, attract and retain talent, and recognize contributions and accomplishments.
  10. Act with integrity, uphold high standards of ethics, and support Walmart’s culture and goals.
  11. Deliver results with a customer-first approach, making decisions based on data insights and analysis.
  12. Drive continuous improvement, adopt new technologies, and support change initiatives.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program covering programs from high school to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and certificates. Eligibility applies, and benefits are subject to change.

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25-$38.46, plus differential where applicable, with additional performance bonuses. The actual wage will meet or exceed the minimum wage requirements for the location.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of college OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership, and experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
