Job summary

Merck is seeking an Executive Director of Medical Affairs, Payer & Health Systems Oncology (PHS EDMA, Oncology) to guide US payer strategies and lead field medical teams across oncology. The role requires high-level leadership, deep medical/scientific expertise, and collaboration with global medical and payer functions.

You will manage the PHS Field Medical strategy, oversee budgets, and ensure execution of strategic payer priorities aligned with CMAP and V&I goals while driving compliant,

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree required with ability to lead scientific/medical colleagues.
• Experience in pharmaceutical industry or payer space, oncology preferred.
• 5+ years front-line field medical leadership in pharma or payer industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead US payer and health systems medical priorities within a matrix organization.
• Oversee field medical teams and strategic execution of plans.
• Integrate payer insights into strategic planning and medical platform development.
• Manage annual PHS Oncology budget and expenditures with compliance.
• Ensure compliant workflows from strategy to execution in oncology portfolios.
• Collaborate with external partners to advance Alliance Portfolio.
