Merck in the USA is seeking the US Executive Director of Medical Affairs, Payer & Health Systems Oncology (PHS EDMA, Oncology). You will shape payer and access strategies across the oncology portfolio and lead the field medical organization to align with CMAP and Global V&I plans.

The role requires MD/PhD/PharmD and 7+ years in pharma/payor with 5 years leading field medical teams, plus travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) with leadership ability.
• At least 7 years of pharma or payer experience, preferably oncology.
• Five years of front-line field medical leadership with teams engaged in scientific exchange with payors.
• Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and implement solutions.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead USMA organization strategy and oversee the field medical MAD team.
• Define US PHS strategy and tactical plans for payor & access.
• Integrate external KDM and payor insights into planning.
• Guide leadership of PHS MAD field team leaders and PASLs.
• Maintain partnerships with RMSD teams for account planning.
• Ensure compliant ways of working across oncology portfolio.
• Collaborate with external alliance partners as needed.
• Develop and manage the annual PHS Oncology budget.
• Oversee approval of program-related expenses.
