Job summary

Merck in the United States seeks an Executive Director of Medical Affairs, Payer & Health Systems Oncology (PHS EDMA, Oncology) to guide payer strategy and field medical execution across the oncology portfolio.

You will lead senior teams, align with CMAP and V&I plans, and manage the annual PHS Oncology budget while ensuring compliant practices and strategic partnerships with external partners.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree with ability to lead scientific/medical colleagues.
• Minimum 7 years in pharma or payer with oncology exposure.
• 5 years frontline field medical leadership leading scientific exchange.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic payer medical needs and field medical strategy.
• Oversee PHS Oncology budget and approval of program expenses.
• Drive integration of payer insights into strategic planning and scientific platforms.
• Coordinate cross-functional USMA teams and regional medical science directors.
• Ensure compliant ways of working across oncology portfolio.
• Develop and execute the Field Execution Plan in alignment with CMAP/GV plans.
