Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Business Development Engineer for US Air Force initiatives to bridge RF capabilities with DoD customer needs. You will collaborate with Engineering and BD teams to demonstrate interoperability of StreamCaster radios across airborne, ground, and expeditionary environments.

The role requires up to 50% travel for field tests and demonstrations, with a 100% remote option depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing US Air Force operational priorities and map requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support technical planning, network configuration, and live field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate to leverage testing data and verify proposed architectures.
• Maintain alignment with BD to support technical needs and priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations for airborne and expeditionary networks.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP proposal reviews and responses.
• Perform market research to identify integrations with industry partners and test end-to-end architectures.
