Job summary

Motorola Solutions, through its Silvus Technologies subsidiary, seeks a Business Development Engineer for US Air Force programs. You bridge RF capabilities with Air Force requirements, supporting field trials, demonstrations, and DOE/DAF opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing US Air Force operational priorities and mapping requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support technical planning, network configuration, and live field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering to leverage testing data and benchmarking to verify architectures.
• Maintain alignment with Business Development to support technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations for airborne, edge, and expeditionary networking needs.
• Contribute technical input for RFI/RFP responses and test end-to-end network architectures.
• Perform market research to identify integrations with industry partners.
• Engage with DoD program offices and AFRL leads to gather feedback and inform roadmaps.
• Travel up to 50% for field tests and customer engagements.
