WellNow Urgent Care in Illinois is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the team in Orland Park. You will take patient histories, monitor vital signs, and support providers during exams and testing, ensuring smooth patient flow and accuracy in documentation.

The role involves phlebotomy if certified, scheduling records for ancillary care, and handling front-desk registration with HIPAA-compliant practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role.
• Preferred Urgent Care/Occupational Medicine/Phlebotomy experience.
• CPR certification.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work well on a team and manage high patient volume.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy if certified.
• Complete lab paperwork for tests.
• Conduct point-of-care tests (strep, glucose, etc.).
• Coordinate records for ancillary care for patients.
• Assist providers during exams and testing.
• Explain insurances and complete registration.
• Triage calls and collect patient responsibilities.
• Ensure Occupational Medicine testing and documentation in EMR.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and clean/stock exam rooms.
