Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care in Harwood Heights, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to bridge front desk and clinical operations, delivering compassionate, efficient care. You will take patient histories, record vitals, assist with exams, perform phlebotomy if certified, and help with lab tests and EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role; OR equivalent education/certification.
• CPR certification required.
• Preferred: Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy for lab samples if certified.
• Complete lab paperwork and computer entries for tests.
• Conduct point-of-care tests (strep, flu, glucose, UA, etc.).
• Coordinate records for ancillary care and tests.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and clean, stocked rooms.
• Support efficient patient flow and provider efficiency.
