Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care seeks a Patient Care Technician to join our urgent care team. You will handle patient history, vital signs, phlebotomy (if certified), and assist providers during exams, with strong emphasis on accuracy and HIPAA compliance.

You will support reception and occupational medicine tasks as needed to maintain smooth patient flow. We offer opportunities for growth in a fast-paced clinical environment, with continuing education and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role; OR equivalent education/certification in a related healthcare specialty
• Preferred experience in Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy
• Computer knowledge and skills, must be able to register patients on the computer in a timely manner; including use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Ability to complete and maintain CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs
• Perform phlebotomy for lab samples if certified
• Complete paperwork and enter results for lab tests
• Perform point of care testing (strep, mono, glucose, flu, pregnancy, urinalysis)
• Coordinate records for ancillary care for patients
• Assist providers with exams and testing
• Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
• Ensure equipment is in working order
• Document medical history and exam findings
• Maintain examination rooms and stock supplies
• Support provider efficiency during shifts
