Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Urgent Care department in Somerville, MA. This part-time role supports clinicians with routine procedures, prepares patients for exams, and ensures EMR updates are complete.

You will perform point-of-care testing and maintain patient flow. The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, and prefer an associate degree in medical assisting with ACLS/BLS certifications.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program.
• ACLS certification.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Experience in clinical or customer service setting (1 year preferred).
• Computer experience with word processing and spreadsheet programs.

Aufgaben

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Prepares patient for examination; measures vital signs.
• Assists clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or tests.
• Updates EMR with medical information including tests and demographics.
• Keeps patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconciles medications and manages refills.
• Addresses patient concerns appropriately.
• Orders and performs point-of-care testing (waived).

Ausbildung

High School diploma or equivalent

Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program

ACLS

BLS

Computer experience with word processing and spreadsheet programs

EMR experience

Knowledge of reagent stability and storage

Understanding testing procedures and factors influencing results
