Job summary

Atrius Health in Somerville, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Urgent Care team. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week with rotating shifts, including weekends. You will support clinicians, take vital signs, assist with procedures, and ensure accurate EMR documentation.

Required: High School diploma or equivalency and Medical Assistant Certification. ACLS/BLS are preferred, with EMR experience and basic lab testing knowledge highly valued. Comprehensive benefits and 401k available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification is required or equivalent.
• Preferred: Associate degree in medical assisting and ACLS/BLS.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Prepare patients for examination; measures vital signs.
• Assist clinicians with routine procedures and tests.
• Update EMR with medical information and test results.
• Maintain patient communication regarding visit status.
• Reconcile medications and manage refills.
• Assist with minor patient concerns and testing.
• Order and perform point-of-care waived testing.
