Job summary

Atrius Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in an urgent care setting. You will assist with routine procedures, take vital signs, and ensure accurate pre-visit preparation and EMR updates.

The role includes direct clinical support, patient communication, and handling of tests and medications in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalency and Medical Assistant Certification; ACLS/BLS are pluses.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
ACLS and BLS certifications are desirable for clinical support roles.
Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
Greet and escort patients to exam rooms according to policy.
Prepare patients for examination; measure vital signs.
Assist clinicians with routine procedures and tests; advise on pre-visit testing.
Ensure EMR is updated with medical information and demographics.
Maintain communication about visit status and delays with patients.
Reconcile medications and manage refills; discontinue inactive prescriptions.
Assist with minor patient concerns and complaints as appropriate.
Orders and performs point-of-care testing (waived tests).
