Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Urgent Care location in Burlington, MA. This full-time role supports clinicians, performs routine tests, and manages pre-visit prep and EMR documentation.

Candidates should have a Medical Assistant certification or an associate degree in medical assisting, plus BLS. The position requires rotating weekends and holidays with 40 hours per week and shift hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification
• Computer experience with the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize patient appointment availability
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or additional tests
• Ensures EMR is updated with medical information and demographics
• Keeps patients informed of visit status and delays
• Reconcile medications and set up pending refills
• Orders and performs point of care testing (waived)
• Perform other duties as assigned
