Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate or MA certification is required.
• Associate degree in medical assisting or MA certification program is preferred.
• ACLS and BLS are preferred.
• Experience in clinical or customer service setting is preferred.
• EMR experience and basic computer skills are needed.
• Knowledge of reagent stability and testing procedures is beneficial.
• Ability to explain tests and procedures to patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs.
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or tests.
• Update EMR with medical information and demographics.
• Keep patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and set up pending refills.
• Assist in resolving patient concerns.
