Job summary

Fairmont New Orleans is seeking a Lobby Lounge Server to deliver warm, personalized service in a luxury setting. You will welcome guests, know the menu and beverage options, and guide selections with expert recommendations.

The role requires familiarity with New Orleans cuisine, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates bring previous server experience, hospitality knowledge, and POS familiarity.

Qualifications

• Previous server experience preferred.
• Luxury hotel/upscale lounge experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and beverage service.
• Knowledge of New Orleans cuisine and hospitality is an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong guest service and relationship-building abilities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional appearance and polished demeanor required.
• Previous POS experience; training will be provided.
• Alcohol awareness certification preferred.
• Food safety certification required or ability to obtain.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, professional, engaging, and personalized service.
• Welcome guests and establish a genuine connection from the start.
• Demonstrate knowledge of lobby lounge policies, menu, and beverage selections.
• Maintain knowledge of cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Know food offerings, ingredients, allergens, and dietary considerations.
• Guide guests through menu selections with thoughtful recommendations.
• Convey New Orleans culinary and beverage culture to guests.
• Take orders accurately and communicate special requests or allergies.
• Deliver food and drinks promptly with proper presentation.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and anticipate needs.
• Coordinate with bartenders, runners, hosts, and management to ensure seamless service.
• Maintain clean, stocked service stations and guest areas.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and use service recovery when needed.
• Assist with opening/closing duties, side work, stocking, and cleaning.
