Job summary

Cable Services Group is seeking a skilled operator for hydraulic excavation equipment to support underground utility construction, including conduit and utilities installation. The role requires reading plans, traversing varied terrain, and rigorous safety adherence.

The position involves traveling to projects, working long hours as needed, and ensuring accurate documentation and site restoration. CDL is required with willingness to travel and operate multiple heavy machines.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret engineering/construction prints and specs.
• Knowledge of utility depths and placements is preferred.
• General construction practices understanding is expected.
• Able to work in varying weather and loud environments.
• Able to work in trenches, excavations, and manholes.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in tasks.
• Able to work independently and with a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Able to lift up to 80 pounds on a regular basis.
• Willing to travel to projects with possible overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment securely.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment safely.
• Complete daily equipment inspections before starting work.
• Operate equipment to assist in placing underground utilities.
• Locate existing utilities and verify them to blueprints.
• Connect conduit and wire as required.
• Dig pits, trenches, or potholes, including window crossings.
• Restore and landscape disturbed areas.
• Complete required job documentation (timesheets, vehicle logs, expense reports).
• Adhere to safety policies and perform work safely.
• Travel to project sites as needed.
