Job summary

Cable Services Company Inc. in Wilkes-Barre, PA seeks an Equipment Operator for hydraulic excavators, skid loaders, and dozers to support underground utility installations. You will read blueprints, locate utilities, and perform pit and trench digging as required.

Responsibilities include equipment inspection, safe operation, and restoration of disturbed areas, with potential overnight travel to project sites. CDL may be preferred; physical stamina required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans, and specifications.
• Knowledge of utility depths and placements.
• Possess general knowledge of construction practices.
• Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Ability to move materials/equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Able to work 5-7 days a week, 10+ hours a day when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment in a manner that is secure and damage-free.
• Transport associated tools, materials, and/or equipment safely.
• Complete a daily inspection of equipment prior to commencing work.
• Operate the equipment to assist in placing underground utilities.
• Locate existing underground utilities and verify them according to blueprints.
• Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as required, including windows when crossing utilities.
• Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite.
• Complete and pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background screen.
