Job summary

Cable Services Company in Meadville, PA seeks an Equipment Operator for hydraulic excavators, skid loaders, and dozer tasks supporting underground utilities. You will read engineering prints, locate existing utilities, and assist in conduit placement and bore paths.

This outdoor role requires 5–7 days per week, 10+ hours some days, with potential overnight travel. CDL preferred; pre-employment drug and DOT physical may be required.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans, and specifications.
• Knowledge of utility depths and placements.
• General knowledge of construction practices.
• Ability to work in varying environments with moderate to loud noise.
• Ability to work in trenches, excavations, and manholes.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently, independently and with a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Able to move materials/equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Can work 5–7 days a week, 10+ hours as needed.
• Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment securely.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment safely.
• Complete daily inspections of equipment before use.
• Operate equipment to place underground utilities.
• Locate utilities and verify with blueprints.
• Connect conduit and wire as required.
• Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as needed.
• Restore disturbed jobsite areas.
• Complete timesheets, vehicle logs, and expense reports.
• Adhere to safety policies and work safely.
• Travel to project sites and work in various conditions.

Education

Class A CDL

1 year hydraulic excavator, skid loader, and dozer experience

1 year directional bore drill experience
