Job summary

Cable Services Group is seeking a field technician to operate hydraulic excavation equipment for underground utility construction and upgrades, including conduit, gas, water, sewer, and electric projects.

Responsibilities include equipment inspection, safe transport of tools, locating utilities, trenching, conduit work, and site restoration. Travel to projects with occasional overnight stays may be required; DOT and safety requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting engineering/construction prints, plans, and specs.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varied environments and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment securely.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment safely.
• Inspect equipment daily before use.
• Operate hydraulic excavation equipment to install underground utilities.
• Locate existing underground utilities and verify depths.
• Connect/stub-up conduit and wire as required.
• Dig pits, trenches, or potholes and manage site restoration.
• Complete timesheets, vehicle logs, and expense reports.
• Follow safety policies and wear protective equipment.
