Job summary

Cable Services Group is seeking an experienced equipment operator to support the construction and upgrade of underground utilities across multiple sites in the United States. You will read blueprints, operate hydraulic excavators, and help locate existing utilities while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work in varying weather, and occasional travel. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and pass pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans and specs.
• Knowledge of utility depths and placements.
• General construction practices knowledge.
• Ability to work in loud environments and in trenches or manholes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment maintaining security and preventing damage.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect equipment daily before use.
• Operate hydraulic excavation equipment to place underground utilities.
• Locate existing utilities and verify with blueprints.
• Dig pits, trenches, or potholes and cross utilities as needed.
• Connect/stub conduits and wiring as required.
• Restore disturbed sites and landscape areas after work.
• Complete timesheets, vehicle logs, and expense reports accurately.
• Adhere to safety policies and perform duties safely.
