Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking an Underground Service Technician to maintain and repair critical underground mining equipment. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in demanding underground environments.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with a skilled team to keep production moving efficiently and safely in Kilgore, TX and surrounding sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in underground or heavy equipment service.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repair.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or 1 year of post-secondary technical education.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Equipment Maintenance: execute maintenance, inspection, and repair of underground mining machinery to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Advanced Diagnostic Analysis: use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with accuracy.
• Field Service Expertise: travel to underground sites to perform on-site repairs and component replacements to maintain production.
• Quality Assurance Testing: perform post-repair testing to verify equipment meets safety and manufacturer standards.
• Technical Documentation Utilization: read schematics and technical manuals, including low voltage controls, for precise repairs.
• Mechanical Alignment: align and calibrate couplings, transfer cases, gearboxes to spec to prevent failures.
• Safety and Compliance: follow all safety protocols for underground environments.
• Collaboration and Communication: report findings and coordinate with supervisors and peers for continuous improvement.
