Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking an Underground Field Service Technician to maintain and optimize underground mining equipment. You will diagnose, repair, and service mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in challenging underground environments, contributing to safety and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' practical experience in underground or heavy equipment service, with hands-on repair and maintenance.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or one year of post-secondary technical education in a related field.
• Underground mining environment experience is highly desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics; safety conscious and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and repair of underground mining machinery to minimize downtime.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and fix issues in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Travel to sites for on-site repairs, component replacements, and system adjustments to maintain production.
• Conduct post-repair testing to verify performance meets safety and manufacturer standards.
• Document work using technical manuals and ensure proper calibration of low voltage controls.
