Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Underground Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of underground distribution systems. The role involves traveling to multiple sites, working around energized equipment, and assisting transformer installation.

Candidates should have 5 years of field experience, be able to lift 50 lbs, and obtain a CDL permit within 60 days. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• 5-year minimum of recent field experience.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days.
• CDL is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe construction, maintenance or repair of energized and de-energized underground systems.
• Assist with installing underground transformers and hook ups.
• Assist in replacing fuses in transformers and clearing faulted circuits.
• Operate and work around high voltage systems with required safety.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Perform rigorous physical labor and work in various locations and weather.
