Job summary

Bon Secours' Rappahannock General Hospital is seeking an unarmed Protective Services Officer to safeguard patients, visitors and staff. You will patrol grounds, respond to calls, escort individuals, and help maintain a secure hospital environment.

Responsibilities include enforcing hospital policies, monitoring CCTV, documenting incidents, and coordinating with clinical teams and law enforcement as needed. This full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification required within 6 months of hire.
• 1–2 years security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Protects patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and mitigating safety hazards.
• Deters crime through routine patrols of hospital property including parking areas.
• Enforces policies (parking, visitation, drug, tobacco) as directed.
• Monitors CCTV and coordinates protective services involvement as needed.
• Intervenes in confrontations and documents all duties via logs and incident reports.
