Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Protective Services Officer Unarmed at Richmond Community Hospital. The role focuses on internal and external safety, responding to calls, and supporting the overall security of the facility.

Responsibilities include patrolling, enforcing policies, and documenting activities. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire.
• 1–2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients, visitors, and staff; patrol grounds; mitigate environment of care hazards.
• Deter criminal activity via routine patrols of hospital property, parking lots and decks.
• Enforce policies including parking, visitation, drug enforcement, and tobacco-free/smoking policy.
• Monitor activity on CCTV and respond to escalating situations requiring Protective Services involvement.
• Intervene in confrontations as appropriate and document all duties performed, including logs and incident reports.
