Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian in Brooklyn Methodist Hospital seeks an experienced Ultrasound Tech for overnight General Ultrasound services. You will perform ultrasound examinations and warmly greet patients, visitors and staff, while assisting in exams as needed.

Requirements include ARDMS certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, BCLS, and at least 3 years of post-training ultrasound experience, focusing on abdominal, pelvic, and Doppler studies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS).
• BCLS certification from AHA.
• Minimum 3 years of direct ultrasound experience post training in General Sonography with Doppler.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations on patients.
• Greet patients/visitors/staff and assist in completing exams as needed.
• Assess patient condition and select proper transducer.
• Adjust equipment to meet diagnostic requirements and ensure safety standards.
• Maintain efficient operation of the ultrasound service during overnight shifts.

In this role, the registered Ultrasound Tech will perform ultrasound examinations. You’ll have an exciting opportunity to warmly greet & welcome patients/visitors/staff & assist in performing exams when necessary. Additional duties include to assess patient condition, select proper transducer and adjustment of equipment according to the needs required for proper diagnostic testing, & ensure adherence to safety standards. This role will ensure the continued effective operation and patient care services in key departments. This is an Overnight position, providing General ultrasound services. This is a full-time position, located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist, working Monday - Friday from 12:00am - 8:00am.

Required Criteria: High School Diploma or equivalent Graduate from an accredited program in ultrasound technology Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) BCLS from AHA Demonstrated experience in patient care with training in Ultrasound If working in the Diagnostic Imaging Center, must have at least 3 years of direct ultrasound experience post training in General Sonography (ie Abdominal, Pelvic, Small Part) and Doppler interrogation (ie upper abdomen, female and male reproductive system) experience

Salary Range: $59.75-$70.65/Hourly
