Job summary

AeroVironment is hiring a Production Technician III in Simi Valley, CA, to test/assemble Small Unmanned Aircraft System products in our manufacturing facility, following drawings and work instructions. This is an entry level position with room to grow.

Responsibilities include mechanical subassembly, final assembly of ground control gear and air vehicles, testing, troubleshooting, and collaborating with engineering to improve documentation and processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; equivalent experience.
• Typically 2 years in manufacturing or production in electronics/electro-mechanical assembly and test.
• Experience with hand tools including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools and air tools.
• Good manual dexterity and basic computer operation skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical, detail-oriented with ability to interpret various instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble subassemblies with hand/power tools; some soldering may be required.
• Final assembly of ground control equipment and air vehicles.
• Test and troubleshoot subassemblies and final assemblies.
• Collaborate with other Production Technicians and Engineering to improve documents and processes.
• Work with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, quality and reduce costs.
• Ensure work order protocols and paperwork are completed as work is performed.
• May conduct in-process quality checks to ensure high quality.
• Follow procedures on routine work and seek instruction for new tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform routine assignments under close supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.
