Job summary

AeroVironment's facility in Simi Valley, CA seeks a Sr. Production Technician to test/assemble Small Unmanned Arial System products in our manufacturing environment, following released engineering drawings and assembly instructions using the work order system.

This is an entry level position. You will perform mechanical assembly of subassemblies with hand and power tools, final assembly of ground control equipment and air vehicles, and testing or troubleshooting of assemblies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; relevant education welcomed
• 2–5 years in manufacturing or production, electronics or electro-mechanical assembly
• Experience with hand tools and power tools; soldering may be required
• Good manual dexterity and clear verbal/written communication

Responsibilities

• Assemble subassemblies with hand and/or power tools; some soldering may be required
• Final assembly of ground control equipment and air vehicles
• Test and troubleshoot subassemblies and final assemblies
• Work with others to improve assembly documentation and processes
• Assist manufacturing engineers to improve efficiency and quality
• Ensure work order protocols and paperwork are completed
• May conduct in-process quality checks
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Support routine tasks under supervision
• Other duties as assigned
