Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team in Columbia, MD. The role emphasizes Kubernetes, container orchestration, AWS, and automation to deploy reliable infrastructure for our big data and cloud-based solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with product teams, and help scale services while maintaining strong security with TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Security Clearance TS/SCI required; U.S. Citizenship required.
• 9+ years of DevOps or software development experience; or 7+ years with a related master's.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration.
• Strong knowledge of AWS (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and deployment experience.
• Proficient with Terraform and Ansible for configuration management.
• Experience with Python, Bash, or Go programming.
• Familiar with Git, Flux, and deployment tools.
• Proficient Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and Agile practices.
• Experience leading engineering teams; tech lead or mentor.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud infrastructure deployment on AWS (EKS) and on-premises edge infra.
• Manage and scale Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes; ensure reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate apps into infrastructure.
• Monitor, troubleshoot production systems; resolve issues.
• Mentor and guide engineers; lead on projects.
• Stay current with technologies; improve processes for high availability.
• Work onsite at Columbia, MD five days a week.
